A Wedding that lasted 3 whole days.

This actually was the first wedding I ever shot at. I was following my friend Nick Lostrocco of Lostrocco photography shoot The Wedding of Jahanarha and Aftab Banth. I was only following Nick for the first two days. where he taught me a few things. Like filling the frame, and other stuff (I will remember later on). On the third day i actually got to be the second photographer. I did the best that I could have done that hot summer day in Sunol country club, in Sunol CA. All in all I would have to say that i did a pretty good job.. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to follow you those days..

HDR

I am still learning, and will always be learning.

I don't know if you have ever heard of HDR photography. Well from what I have gathered, and correct me if I'm wrong, it is taking a picture at three different exposure, 1 regular exposure, 1 underexposed @ 1 f stop below, and 1 overexposed @1fstop above. Then combining them through a software program that brings out different dimentions of that photo, that would have not otherwise been seen in a single exposure shot.

I have been asked, and actually tried for myself, getting one photo and saving it in 3 different exposures. When I combined them I ended up with the same picture as the original. I think the reason it doesnt work is because, when you take the picture at different exposures. your camera will capture the different shadows and highlights of the subject. Taking the original and saving it at different levels. wont pull out anything in the picture that you cant alredy see in the original..

I could be pulling this out of now where. But Either way here are some HDR photos that i have done recently..
This is the final HDR image of an apartment building near lake Merrit.  And below are the original pictures.

Hopefully this will give you somewhat of an idea about HDR. or atleast what I have seen or experienced with it. Please feel free to reply or send me questions. Live is about experiences, not check lists.

Surfs Up!!

Early this morning a friend of mine named Dave Veal picked me up at my place, and we went to get pictures of him catching waves. Dave is a great guy. I met him through an add I posted on craigslist.org for a barter, I will do headshots or whatever shots you need in exchange for a mountain bike. Thats how I met Dave. Enough of that, here are a couple of shots I got of him and also some amazing shots of the other surfers there. I threw in a few pictures of the beach, because they are awesome.
