Down the mission in SF

I was walking around with a friend of mine last couple of evenings around mission and Cesar Chavez, in SF. There are some great colors and fun things to see, but don't take my word for it. here is the proof.

what do I talk about?

I am not sure what i should write about. Do I blog about the tooth extraction that I had which almost felt like the guy was going to break my jaw? Or do I talk about the relationship that seemed good at first, but made me quickly realize that all the traits I dislike most in myself, I saw in them? Neither!!!!!

I am instead going to talk about how this whole past week and a half gave me the opportunity to be places and get photos of people that i would have not gotten otherwise. It somehow gave me the courage to talk to others while I'm taking pictures around me to talk to them and network. Perhaps make a friend along the way or even a client.

yesterday afternoon. I was walking with my friend Rudy and he took me up to Kite Hill park. The scenery there was amazing. The view of San Francisco was great, just like anywhere else in that area, but what really gotten my attention was a couple just hanging out and being together happy. I was able to say hi and ask if i could take a photo of them while they glance over the cityscape. (I for some reason didnt aske their names or offer mine, but they got my card. I know I am a loser. lol). It was a very nice shot and here are the two that i like the most.

After that, we had walked to where these slides were, really high on the side, a bit on the fast side. I was able to take some photos of a father with his son and daughter on the slide. I talked to the mom. Her name was Kathy, (I believe, I have got to get better at remembering names) A very nice family, and here are those photos I got.

Then finally went back to Kite Hill where we met a Jim with his dog (a black mix, Beautiful dog). Jim was nice enough to let me photograph his dog. and here are those shots..

It was a great day, even though I had just broken up with someone.

and here are some more photos I had gotten that are just great photos. Not all taken that same day.

My Very First Magazine Shoot!

I have to say that this was a momentous day for me, well it was actually yesterday. On monday November 8th 2010. I did my very first magazine shoot. The magazine is called "Next Door". It is a gay publication. The shoot that I did was for a section called Peeping Tom. It was shot as if I was checking the model be in his own environment from across the street, or through the bushes. So in other words, I was the peeping tom. Luckily I already knew the model previously, so that made the shoot go alot easier. I was connected with the gig through Mark Andrews, an amazing photographer who works with alternative media. He does his photography on metal. You can look at his work at www.studioobscura.com really awesome work. So the issue will be out in march. That gives me enough time to work on the website.

It has been a while since I posted. but that doesnt mean that I havent been doing my photography. I will post a small bit of what I think are amazing shots from the shoot. Don't expect the full image though, I dont want to ruin the suspense of what that issue will be like. Besides the fact that the magazine may pick completely different shots. So who knows. but here are some shots. and I will post a blog with more pictures from whats been happening these past couple of weeks. tomorrow.

S 2 S Gala

Now I know what some of you are thinking. "I thought he was going to post these pictures the next morning after the Gala".

Well I didn't post them the next morning because I wanted the Larry or Eve to either see the pictures first or at least give me some kind of feedback before I do any kind of posting. Well I finally got the e-mail today that I needed.

So just to brief the people who have no idea, whats going on. Let me fill you in. On Oct. 21 or the 22 there was a gala fundraiser titled "Seed to Spirit" in San Francisco's Broadway Studios located on Broadway and Montgomery. A super cute venue. I had a great time shooting there.

The movie is actually a documentary about a Photographer (Jack Gescheidt) who is working on a project that gets a lot of controversy. Why? do you ask. Well its because he is doing nudes in public parks. But it is not about "being naked in a public spot". Its about reconnecting with nature, because they are actually hugging endangered trees. As you can tell I am not a good journalist, But I wanted to get you caught up on what was going on. I also didn't want this post to be so boring, "Here is where I was, and here are the pictures". So hopefully it will make more sense as to what the pictures are about.

Now here are some pictures the rest of the best will be on my Flickr..
